Westend (population 28.000) is traditionally one of the more upscale districts and neighborhoods of Frankfurt. The Bockenheimer Landstrasse and the Grüneburgweg are the two main streets of this area. The residential buildings are mainly located in quiet streets within this district. Impressing office buildings have been developed around the area of the Opernplatz, where the former opera house is located. The area offers a variety of cafés and excellent restaurants.
